The literal meaning of Bid’ah (innovation) is a new thing. According to Shari’ah, Bid’ah refers to those beliefs or practices which were not prevalent in the visible lifetime of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and were produced afterwards.
