The third day of Haj:
On the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, when you are sure that the sun has risen, then start for Mina from Muzdalifa and on the way, keep performing Dua, Istighfaar, Talbeeh and recite Durud profusely.
The 10th of Dhul Hijjah is a very busy day for the Hajis. For this reason, the Salaat Ul Eid is not there for Hajis. The first thing to be done in Mina is to perform Rami (stoning). Perform Rami only on Jamra ‘Aqba (the big devil). Stop the Talbeeh before casting the first stone.
The Sunnah and Mustahab time to perform Rami is from sunrise to noon. The Mubah (permissible) time is from noon to sunset. The Makruh (undesirable) time is from sunset to true dawn (Subah Sadiq), which means that it is Mustahab (commendable) to perform Rami before noon, permissible to perform Rami from noon to sunset and Makruh to perform Rami from sunset to true dawn.
The second thing to be done is sacrificing an animal (Qurbani). Qurbani is Mustahab (commendable), not Wajib for those who are performing Haj Ifrad. However, it is Wajib for those who are performing Haj Qiran or Haj Tamattu’.
The third thing to be done is Halaq or Qasr. It is Afdhal to get the head shaved (Halaq) rather than having the hair cut (Qasr). It can be done on the 10th, 11th, 12th Dhul Hijjah. However it is Afdhal to get it done on 10th. It is a Sunnah to sit facing the Ka’aba (Qiblah) and to start from the right side while getting any of these done. After getting Halaq or Qasr done, untie the Ihraam.
Note: The given order of Rami, Qurbani and Halaq (or Qasr) is necessary. If Halaq is done before performing Qurbani, the Dam (i.e. sacrifice of an animal) becomes Wajib.
After Rami, Qurbani and Halaq, start for Makkah Mukarramah for Tawaf Ziyarah. Tawaf Ziyarah should be performed in usual clothes. If Sa’ee was not done, then it can be done after this Tawaf. Perform “Raml” also in this Tawaf. If Sa’ee was already done, then don’t perform “Raml” in this Tawaf. The time for Tawaf Ziyarah is from the true dawn (Subah Sadq) of the 10th of Dhul Hijjah to the sunset of the 12th Dhul Hijjah. However, it is Afdhal to perform the Tawaf on 10th Dhul Hijjah. After coming back from the Haram, spend the night in Mina, as it is a Sunnah to do so.
The 4th day of Haj:
On 11th Dhul Hijjah, Rami (stoning) of the 3 Jamraat should be performed. First 7 stones should be thrown at the small devil. After this, move forward a little bit, face the Qiblah and raise hands in supplication. With all attention, praise Allah Ta’ala, send Durud to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), perform Istighfaar and other supplications. If it is possible do this for the time taken to recite 20 verses of the Holy Quran, other as per convenience. After this, stone the middle devil 7 times. Then perform Tahmeed, Tahleel, Takbeer, Durud and Dua. Spend as much time as spent after the first Rami. Then perform Rami of the Jamra ‘Aqaba (the big devil). There is no Rami after this, so one should neither stop nor perform any supplications, instead, one should move forward.
The Sunnah time for Rami is from noon to sunset. If someone does Rami from sunset to the true dawn (Subah Sadiq) without any valid reason, then it is permissible with a degree of undesirability. If there is a valid reason for performing Rami in the night, then there is no undesirability.
If Tawaf was not done on the 10th, then go to Makkah for Tawaf and perform Tawaf. Then return to Mina and spend the night in Mina.
